Jamie Cullum’s first album released on Candid Records had a series of classic American songs, that, although given Jamie’s unique jazz treatment, still had a definite swing feel to them. We therefore decided to combine these 7 tracks with 7 tracks from the maestro himself, Frank Sinatra. Following on the heels of the extremely successful Smith & Co. “Kings of Swing” CD featuring Michael Bublé & Frank Sinatra (in excess of 50,000 CD’s sold to date) this was just screaming out to be the next album in the series.
There will be no new Universal album from Jamie this year so this is a great oppurtunity to to reach the the millions of fans waiting for new material, many of whom are unaware of the debut Candid album. They can also hear how the combo style of Jamie Cullum’s recordings blend beautifully with the big Nelson Riddle orchestra recordings of “Old Blue Eyes”! This album is an absolute delight!
