It is some achievement to celebrate forty years of classic song-writing, sales of over eight million records and live performances in some sixty different countries. Yet, in 2009, that is exactly what Chris Simpson, founder member of the English folk-rock band, Magna Carta, will be doing. And who can deny him the right to a very large glass of champagne?
The band has become one of the world’s great acoustic acts, with a discography of over 30 recorded works (six of which have earned a gold disc) and a reputation founded on well-crafted songs, insightful lyrics and faultless performance.
To celebrate this milestone we have decided to release a 2CD set featuring all the great moments in the career of this band including those songs which achieved chart status in various territories around Europe such as “The Airport Song”, “Ticket to the Moon” and “Midnight again”. .
